When these requirements were presented, the first reaction of many temperature control manufacturers was: "High requirements, difficult to handle."
This was a recent customer request from the petrochemical industry that AODE received. The user wanted to cool two oil and gas experimental equipment and already had an oil and gas heat exchanger on hand. They needed to purchase a matching refrigeration unit to complete the overall cooling solution.
AODE temperature control solution

The difficulties of this project lie in:
Dual temperature zone requirement: The first equipment requires a cooling capacity of 45KW when the outlet water temperature is 0℃, and the second equipment requires a cooling capacity of 25KW when the outlet water temperature is -27℃.
Strict environment: The on-site environment is an area prone to fire and explosion. All instruments must be selected as explosion-proof type, with explosion-proof grade not lower than ExdⅡBT4. At the same time, the project location is not far from the seaside, so the equipment must have salt spray resistance performance.
Physical limitations: The medium is diethylene glycol, and the size of the unit has a clear upper limit.
This project has put forward many high requirements for the refrigeration equipment. AODE based on years of industry experience, has tailored a set of stainless steel explosion-proof air-cooled chilled water machine solution for the customer. The key points of the solution are as follows:
Integrated design of two machines in one unit
AODE integrated two independent refrigeration units onto the same base plate, achieving a dual-unit design. The first unit provides temperature control ranging from normal temperature to 0℃, while the second unit offers temperature control from normal temperature to -27℃, meeting the different cooling capacity requirements of the two oil and gas experimental equipment.
The two units operate independently and do not interfere with each other, effectively saving installation space on site. At the same time, the temperature control accuracy and stability are high, effectively ensuring the cooling needs of the oil and gas experimental equipment.
Full explosion-proof design
All on-site instruments are selected based on explosion-proof criteria. All instruments are of explosion-proof type, with an explosion-proof rating of no less than ExdⅡBT4 and a protection rating of IP55. The compressor is selected with an explosion-proof certificate to ensure that the core components meet explosion-proof safety requirements.
Salt spray prevention and anti-corrosion design
Given that the project is located in an offshore area, AODE designed the unit with a comprehensive salt spray prevention system, effectively resisting salt spray corrosion and ensuring the long-term stable operation of the unit in the harsh coastal environment.
Ethylene glycol as refrigerant medium
The unit uses ethylene glycol as the refrigerant medium. The refrigeration machine is equipped with a water tank and a water pump (with a pump head of ≥ 2.5KG), ensuring the stable circulation of the refrigerant medium.
PLC intelligent control
The unit can be data-communicated with the user's power cabinet and PLC control system, supporting remote monitoring and data management, and improving the overall operational efficiency.
Compact structure design
The unit's height is controlled within 2.8m, and the width is controlled within 2.6m. The overall structure adopts a skid-mounted integrated design, facilitating on-site hoisting, transportation, and quick installation.
